JaRod Hall (b. 1991) is a Texas composer, educator, conductor, and performer. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of North Texas and a Master of Music in Composition from Texas State University, where he currently serves as an adjunct Faculty Field Supervisor for School of Music student teachers. His principal teachers include Chris Pineda and Don Little (tuba); Dennis Fisher, Dr. Nicholas Williams, and Dr. Caroline Beatty (conducting); and Dr. Michael Ippolito and Dr. Jack Wilds (composition).
 

During eight years as a band director, Hall’s middle and high school concert ensembles earned UIL Sweepstakes awards at every Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation in which they participated. In 2018, his students at Griffin Middle School (Frisco, TX) became the first middle school band in Frisco ISD history to receive the Citation of Excellence as one of the top two Class A non-varsity bands in Texas. The ensemble was named a Commended Winner the following year. In 2019, under Director of Bands Oscar Denis, Hall and the R. L. Turner High School marching band staff helped lead the program to a Division I rating at UIL and its first advancement to the Area Marching Contest in a decade. Now a frequent guest conductor and clinician, Hall works with students and educators across the United States through honor ensembles, clinics, and reading sessions, including the Delaware All-State Junior High Band, Louisiana Bandmasters Association All-Star Middle School Wind Ensemble, and numerous Texas All-Region middle and high school bands.

Hall has performed as a substitute tubist with the Dallas Winds, and his ensemble experience includes the North Texas Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and 3 O’Clock Lab Band, along with the Texas State Symphonic Winds and Wind Symphony, where he served as principal tuba for two years. Hall was selected to the Texas All-State Band the maximum possible four times: three on tuba and a fourth as first-chair jazz bass trombone in 2010. He also served as drum major of the 2013 Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps and performed with the 2014 Disneyland All-American College Band.

Hall’s compositions appear on prescribed and approved music lists in Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, South Carolina, and Texas, as well as the J.W. Pepper Editors’ Choice and Bandworld Top 100 lists. His brass choir work Silver Fanfare was selected as a winner of the 2020 Dallas Winds Call for Fanfares, and his Grade 2 concert band work Through the Storm received the 2021 Barbara Buehlman Prize for middle school band. Hall also works nationwide as a marching arts arranger and consultant.
 

Hall resides in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife, Rachel (the smart one in the family), a medical student at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine.
